"runs on Windows 7 with multi-touch"
Fail
This is most likely vapourware. The images are all photoshopped creations. Go to their site; the images are obvious hacks. The site has errors in pricing, too.
And since when can a machine with 2Gb RAM run Windoze 7 in any kind of useful way. (At least to the level of usefulness that W7 could ever attain!)
Yikes!
Cool! The worst of both worlds! It's heavy, slow and (gulp) Window AND you don't have a real keyboard.
I'm going to run out and buy one as soon as I get my lobotomy!
Microsoft made the Xbox for gaming to take market share from PS2 and the others. Ballmer, that is not Apple.
Remember the iPod killer, the Zune. It wasn't a turn key system that any wanted. Remember the Windows mobile OS and that Apple's iPhone did not have a chance.
If you PC and device people are not innovative enough to be in a market before Apple, you haven't got a prayer. If you are than you better not stop innovating or Apple may take it too.
Another indirect benefit to using the A4 Apple processor: can't be easily compared (e.g. MHz, cores, etc) to other competing devices.
I think they're waiting for someone to order 5 million of them at $670 each. Then they can order the parts from China.
But one really has to ask the question - WHY?
Take a look at it carefully. The Windows/PC/Geekblogger/Anal-lyst love this POS. It's got all the bullet points for their bragging needs.
USB/VGA/Windows/Removable Battery/Camera/Card Reader.
It will run like crap with Windows POS 7 and 3.5 battery life, but thats okay. The Windows/PC/GeekBloggers/Anal-lyst, are just creaming when they get to list off the featured useless checklist to their friends. It's like who's penis is bigger syndrome with these guys. lol
LOOK AT ALL THOSE PORTS!!!! This baby is sure to be a huge success. Because people want moar ports.
Who would buy this thing? Does it have a removable battery? What about expandable memory? Sd card slot? No one will buy this thing . . . It doesn't even have a built in keyboard. What if I want to upgrade the graphics card? Where is the floppy drive?!?!
Pshhh . . .
Serial port? Where's the parallel port?
I never went for the bullet list of features because my penis was always bigger.
finally, my registry editing dreams have come true, and quite the looker to boot!
The only design cues it seems to be taking are that the screen is rectangular and the corners are rounded, which is pretty much a given of any device anywhere. Design cues such as making it look nice, making it light, making it nice to hold etc are noticeably lacking.
Endgadget was touting the MS vaporware, MS courier
You can see the serial port and the parallel port if you look next to the SCSI.
A VGA port???
I cannot believe it doesn't come with any OS for that price - $180 EXTRA for Windows Vista or 7! If Apple wins the 'multi-touch patent war' and purchases most of the world's SSD RAM supplies, then these prices will go up even more.
O.M.G
The WinZealots truly don't get it.
Yo!
MS Weenies?
PUHLEEZEEE report front and center to the 80's, you're sorely missed.
(what a hideous piece of dung!)
3.5 hours? That will barely get most college students through 4 classes, not to mention having to find a plug to recharge when not in class.
A card reader and single USB port might be a good idea for future models of iPad though, so people can back up iWork and other documents via either SD card or flash drive when they're away from their home WiFi network.
But can I listen to Pandora while I hook it up to my 14" Packard-Bell monitor?
"Runs Windows 7 with multi-touch"
If that's true, then Apple's next lawsuit target is Ezy Tablet PC or Microsoft, whomever put multi-touch on Windows 7.
I can't imagine how slow that thing must be. Windows 7 is a dog on a netbook, now you're going to layer multi-touch on it? Booting up will be completed . . . tomorrow. Ouch.
It's good to see that Apple was awarded the patent for 'Electronic Devices with Form Factor, Appeal, and Quality User Experience' It's even better to see the PC manufacturers staying well clear of anything that could be construed as a violation of said patent.
Salivating over it. I cancel my iPad order.
MW: "called" as in "the '90s called and want all their ports back".
Without a floppy drive, it's going to fail in the PC world
Well, we know that a netbook turned tablet with an Atom processor is going to be hot, hot, hot. Seeing as it's 2.2lbs, we know it has something like a 3 cell battery and with netbook specs, 3.5hrs is really max.
It's BRILLIANT! The Windows users will buy them in droves!
Haha. Is that real?? The side view of that thing makes me want to puke.
That thing should have an actual bicycle kickstand instead of a dock.
I think a netbook is a towering monument to man's genius and creativity compared to this POS.
These Ezy Tablet images make me smile.
The feet mean that even in the vapourware phase, the device runs hot and requires air moving beneath.
And the feet mean I'm supposed to lay it flat on the table and view and use it from a silly angle.
And, man, the ports!
THE PORTS!!
Jubei, you hit the nail on the head - Windosaurs will shriek with delight at the sight of this abomination!
"$679, but ordering the device in larger quantities drops the unit price slightly."
Best to get people to order as many as possible before they get a chance to use the thing. ![]()
Mmm.....
No parallel port?
bwwwwaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
= suck.
Nice afternoon laugh break on a Monday. I'm surprise the author did not beak into detail side by side feature comparison with the joojoo pad.
Seriously, now all PC makers are going to drop the netbook plans and start copying tablets?
Fin takes one look at the Ezy Tablet and says...
"Oh, God...!!! I think I'm gonna vomit!! Uhhh...!!"
(retching- followed by sound of lumpy wet things hitting the floor.)
I showed this to the IT guys at work. They LOVE it! I think we're witnessing a paradigm shift in computing. Microsoft's brilliance outshines dumpy MAC again!
Go ahead, clueless MAC lemmings: turn this into a techs & specs war. The Windows intangibles will blow the I-Pad's gonads off.
Your potential. Our passion.™
The real problem is the lack of a PS/2 port for a keyboard. Also, there's no Centronics printer port.
It looks like someone copied the iPad but forgot to put a new toner cartridge in the photocopier.
Hey, Zune Tang! Just for fun, press Windows-R, type cmd <enter>, and then type ipconfig /all at the command line. See, you're a MAC lemming, too!
You have at least three MACs: your computer, your router, and your modem.
Our Macs have MACs too. However, the Mac is classier than the MAC.
@Macintosh
My whole family came in to see what the hell was so funny.
Bicycle Stand....
That is the greatest.
Thanks for my laugh of the year.
Pablo
Humph, just a "NetTablet", move along nothing worthy to see here...
...... later, much later
still laughing.
Zuney, hey where you been? Glad the IT folks at work LOVE to be wannabes.
Harmony in the universe.
Now before you guys jump on for this comment keep in mind I've been an Apple user and fan all my life. I've never had a WIndows PC at home. My first Mac was an Apple IIci.
That being said I do think the iPad is amazing and sure to be just as hot a seller as the iPod and iPhone were when the both debuted. However before the iPad was officially introduced I was hoping it would be more like this thing in that it would be a full featured Macbook (Pro) but in tablet form like the iPad is. My thought was that Apple was going to take the Macbook display and put it where the physical keyboard is and then leave it at that. A full featured Macbook Tablet. That's something I would have liked but that's just me.
Never heard of the Modbook, have you?
The TRS-80 reborn!
Crap! Where is the Floppy drive???? WE NEED FLOPPY
Well I am going to BUY one!
Then I shall donate it to the museum of abandoned technology.
http://verydemotivational.com/2010/03/08/demotivational-posters-apple/

Clueless idiots. This is looking really sad. And what part of the thousands of apps that will run on the iPad does this PC crap run.
Instant on for the iPad. Lighter. Longer battery life. Multi touch. No spy ware and viruses. ... Who is this thing Windows PC tablet being marketed to?
