I am partying!!!! Buying one asap!!!!!!
They should have done this in the first place. Instead they chose to release that hideous 60's style ROKR.
Now we're getting there.
Mw "Form" as in a good one.
Its about time something better has come along. Why didn't they announce this instead of that other crap at the Apple Event?
Just got a RAZR a couple weeks ago...hope I am still in the returnable phase...
Bought my RAZR a few months ago knowing that this would come out eventually. I didnt care. Why am I going to run my battery down playing music through my phone?
That's what iPods are for.
How many songs can this baby store? Anyone know?
Thanks.
Jake
Wonder if this one is also crippled: only 100 tunes despite having gobs of memory?
I'll wait for the Apple Newtonian iTunes Phone before upgrading my handset.

I hate flip phones! I've not much use for phones with ludicrous features... like music players and cameras... but that one looks nice!
what in the love of Allah is TransFlash?
Are they coming up with new flash memory types every week, or is it just me?
Is that a scroll wheel I see?
This phone LOOKS very cool. Hope it is not crippled with either iTunes song capacity or with iSync.
MW= "Case" as in great lookin' one.
Jamie, "We" didn't go with Sony Ericsson because their name starts with the name 'Sony' and Sony has their own music agenda to push.
Duh.
Jamie: Because it is Sony.

Hey! This one isn't butt ugly! Nice.
Now that's what I'm talkin' about.
Andy C.: beat me to it!

Motorola has to have the worst phone software on the planet. And Bluetooth connectivity? What a joke! I still have to use a USB cable to connect my V710 to my Mac despite it being a Bluetooth phone, and even then I can't download pictures from it. Same goes for Windows users. Its so bad, Moto settled a class-action lawsuit recently allowing 710 owners to get a full refund for their phones.
Looks nice. Now it just needs "beam me up" technology!
Just tell me if it will be iSync capable for contacts and calendars!
Anybody?
my current V3 syncs just fine using isync.
Snap!
Are you able to do it smoothly via Bluetooth?
sonyericsson phones are the sweetest. I would way rather have one of the new sonyericssons than any motorola. Motorola phones all have the same user interface, and it is a sucky one. also, motorola doesn't allow application downloads to the phone like sonyericssons do, so capabilities such as controlling powerpoint with your bluetooth cellphone are impossible on a motorola. Everybody should buy a sonyericsson.
Go Apple!
Hot! Since I am in the market for a new phone and new service, I may have to keep this in mind.
Will this phone be able to be used with Verizon??
70ver - "is that a scroll wheel i see?"
Sorry, no such luck. Just a basic toggle plate. But you have a great point. I have a scroll dial on my old Nokia and it's great. If they would put an iTunes like scroll wheel (with the same push-button functionality at the compass points) this (and any other phone) would be as compelling to use as an iPod. That's where the future needs to be.
MDN Word "real" - I'm 'real' certain I'd buy one instantly for that - regardless of the number of songs played (I have an iPod, after all).
Is this phone on the compatibility list for Mac's? (My Sony Ericson works well with Calendar, Address Book, iSync, is a mountable filesystem, etc.) Also, as someone else mentioned, can you remote-control devices via bluetooth?
gsm?
Jay, if Verizon even let's you use this phone with their network, you can expect that every cool feature of the phone will be disabled because, god forbid, you sync your phone and computer without paying Verizon for precious air time.
Scatologist, I LOVE flip phones.
This phone is going to Rock!!!! iTunes + RAZR = The Best Phone EVER.
Go Apple.
Go. Motorola.
Magic Word: Married
Married as in iTunes and RAZR
The best phone ever is still on Ive's drawing board. But this one is not too shabby. And it's not a sony!
Moto is so funny. Why no one like our brick with iTunes? Ohhhhhh. People want the Razr with iTunes. Oh. Okay.
Now it is worth it to buy a phone with iTunes. Thank you Motorola, for figuring out we like nice things- and the ROKR is not that nice.
"Screw the ROKR! Who would carry 500 songs in such an ugly phone when you can do it on the RAZR V3i"
Marke my words- I bet something to that effect will be said.
But seiously, im glad i din't buy a new phone yet....
Wake me when the camera is 3 - 4 Mps and you can get a large storage chip to slip in. It's great looking, but 1.3 Mps aren't when loaded onto your computer.
As far as a basic phone goes it does look nice, but the version I would have to get to work with Cingular isn't going to be at international GSM standards, where I can put in a local (say UK) chip and go my own way.
Just in time for the Christmas season too.
MMMMMmmmmmmmm......
I have a Moto RAZR and I love it...
Looks like my wife is going to get a hand me down. ![]()
What is nice - even if it is onlt 100 songs is that I can carry this one around and not worry about any scratches!
I agree with the comments about why wasn't this intro'd instead of the Moto C.R.A.P. phone...
MW: bill as in my phone purchasing bill just went up.
OzzysCross101--
It's 100 songs, not 500 on the ROKR. I'm not sure about this one though...
they should push for nokia. the best phone user-interface by far. motorola is crap. hate to say it. i would definately by a phone from apple. but they couldnt do it without incorporating itunes. and hence disturbing their ipod line of products.thats why they havnt as yet released one in my opinion.
NaplesLensman--
Yep, using only bluetooth. Granted my Razr is from T-Mobile and when I looked at my co-worker's Cingular Razr, it looked as though have the features were turned off and/or replaced with Cingular specific items.
Now, overall my SonyEricsson T610 was a dream as it was far easier to use and personalize than the Razr is, but outside of personalizing, the Razr beats the T610 in reception quality.
fact, the majority of people prefer candybar shaped phones. fact, my RAZR is wider than and about as long as my much better years older symbian nokia. fact, motorola has 4 different operating systems and w/ the current 4LTR OS you have to have an unlocked phone, mobile phone tools, a PC, and spend a bunch of time motoburning just to make your phone halfway as functional and easy to use as other phones including sony and nok. fact, motorola won big w/ quad band gsm, but dropped the ball w/ the first 'itunes' phone by crippling it. You can sync most mots fine, but they generally suck for use so why bother?
Lets be realistic here. The iSLVR or whatever is a nice phone. If you're risking it then it does make a bit of sense not to kill of your only somewhat trendy phone (star-tac 2005 aka RAZR). However, until Mot stops fumbling around w/ junk operating systems or trying to jump on the linux for embedded boat / 'it's kinda open source' way to late in the game; the phones will be a horrible user experience and the reason that people who actually use pda's or mp3 players and phones object to them being unified is because MOST of the attempts suck.
Forget this puppy, and forget the price you'd pay in contract to be stuck w/ it. It's junk.

Why on earth did we sign up with Motorola? Sony Ericcson would have been a much better company to design iTunes phones.
