Hey I can't find any good porno for my iPod! What gives? Where's the podPorn?
Who cares? Im sorry but if your kid is getting access to porn he will have to pay for ... well... let him! or her! They gotta learn about it sometime ;P
I'm just waiting for some born-again preacher to hold up the new iPod and curse the device for its devilish properties. Soon every righteous christian will be told to rid themselves and their families of this evil contraption.
Strangely many holy orifices in the US and abroad will be praising the lord for the kind but unexpected donation from the Bill and Melissa Gates foundation. Even more oddly no-one mentions that most video porn is distributed using microsofts wma system which has drm in place to prevent perverts from getting the stuff for free!
MW hands: as in wash your hands boy, don't you know ipods are dirty!
Other possible keywords to search for might be:
Donkey
Midget
Granny
Paddle
Golden
If you find a hit with those searches... your children are lost.
It's called parenting. Look into it.
it's too bad that Apple came out with this new video enabled iPod because otherwise no one would have thought to put downloadable porn on the internets
How about doing a search for a .mpg or .avi files. That would be the smarter way to go about it. I think it's funny how this sort of thing is brought up after the iPod with video capabilities comes out, yet for the several years prior, when kids were surely filling CDs with porn, no one had a problem.
Sex is not bad, but porn is manipulative, fraudulent, and lets people focus an awful lot on their own gratification. Adults can take their lives down whatever paths they want presumably because they know the consequences and make choices. Kids should be allowed a chance to grow without being jaded at the outset because often kids' choices are not balanced because they don't have the same intellect adults might have.
It makes me laugh when people turn developmental issues into politics-- like censoring porn is somehow more aggregious on a human rights bent than exposing emotionally and cognitively undeveloped individuals to staged reality that they can't comprehend or process. I wonder if people who place political issues above developmental ones have ever thought it all through...
Flame on...
"So cultivate good relationships"
That is the best advice from the article. You will not always be able to watch over your kids and protect them, so why not spend time with them and help them learn constructive things.
Technology is inherently neither good nor bad, it's what people do with it that makes it either good or bad or both. Is nuclear energy good or bad? In some cases, it is good and in some it is bad.
Well it's now only a matter of time before some crazy religious leader holds an iPod burning to expell the digital sins of our youth. Bring all of your iPods with porn and harry potter audiobooks on them!
Please Stop publishing this crap and come back to being a MAC news site.
WTH?
Porn is not an issue with iPods PERIOD.
if its an issue with Ipods then it is an issue with all other computing devices which can play/view images, video, sound AND text.
that covers pretty much all digital devices.
so why don't we prohibit the use of anything digital, turn off the computer, the DVR, the cell phone, the pda, the gameboy, the ps15.
come on people get a grip, a cell phone is just as able to contain porn as an iPod, and is MUCH MUCH more conspicuous.
so get your mind out of the gutter and focus on something interesting.
HOW about the world series? Pretty interesting right?
2 teams with really really old stigmas broke them in the past 2 years.
or more on topic, what should Mac users make of PA semi's new PPC chips.
Um, no. Video capable iPods do not CREATE a concern, immediate or otherwise. A connection to the internet does that. Any parent who thinks this is something sudden or new has already failed in their parental responsibilities.
Man, I wish I would have had this stuff when I was a kid!
MW: year. MDN, are you taunting me?
Ban genitals! And wmv. MW: What?
It seems obvious that kids have to GET the porn first, before they can put it onto their iPods. So, any kid that has porn on his iPod has already been infected by the so-called 'evils' of pornography.
Damn, Americans are puritanical.
If my 15 year old is jerking off to porn he's not knocking up some classmate or contracting a venereal disease. Go for it my son!
Amazing. Simply amazing. I live in an asylum where the inmates don’t want to talk to their kids about sex, and don’t want them to learn about it by other means either.
I'll stop it!!!!
Puritanism, its not just for breakfast anymore.
Run! It's FUD! FUD! FUD!
Kids always had the ability to view porn, from the local school chums, to daddy's videos, to national geographic (yuck!) to the internet.
They could always carry a copy and quickly get rid of it, but with the viPod if they don't give up their password their get their toys confiscated along with all their music.
So there is more control there.
Considering that the ne video iPods have that combination lock feature on them, there'd be no way for a parent to tell what's on it without (1) having physical access to it, (2) knowing the password if it has one, or (3) having physical access to their kid's computer and knowing any passwords which may already be enabled on those.
But then, kids have access to all kinds of devices, saide from iPods and computers that allow them to capture, download, store, and hide any and all kinds of material that they probably shouldn't have, and that's not even including getting it from their friends, so i guess there's something of a conundrum right there.
My point? Don't blame others if you can't, won't, or don't know how to raise your own offspring. The TV and the Internet are NOT babysitters. But we already knew that, right? ![]()
MDN Mgic Word = "woman"

Wait till Hillary finds out about iporn, she confiscate Bills fer sure
