Yah, Baby... love it.
JohnE,
Funny... but true!
MaWo: 'care'. As in, "Will anybody even care about a 'competing' product?"
Nice. I wonder how the market will react today? Another 5 to 6% selloff?
$69 shuffle too!!
I can smell the AAPL stock rising again...
$69 shuffle too!!
No...they make hardly any money off it.
Great job by Apple of solidifying the low end market. With 4 models now under $200, and both shuffles now under $100, there is something for everyone, even those with very limited budgets. The iPod domination continues...
Well at least we know that Apple's 30th anniversary announcement on April 1st won't be iPod news!
I'm glad that Apple has not retired the shuffle. It serves a specific niche.
Best now to leave Apple to the music player market - unless you have an idea that is off the top of the brilliance scale...

Yes, Microsoft lawyers will. They'll all cry "Monopoly!"
MW = ones - they're the only ones.
"$69 shuffle too!!"
"No...they make hardly any money off it."
And neither do corporations built on selling products for one $. Think about it and you will see that margin and volume are interelated. They will make a shedload of money from this.
It's all good news.

Me too! It's perfect for exercise/working out. I use my 30GB 5G for everything else, but I love my 512MB shuffle for using at the gym.
Yes, time to buy a shuffle!
The engineering and startup costs are long paid for. They can keep churning them out as long as people are buying them. The profit margin may not be that great but think of it as an upgrade path. Someone can try out the shuffle for $69 and then decide to get a $149 nano later. Brilliant!
Apple better watch out...they're going to start to become known as the company with the lowest cost products.
If you like using your player while working out there is no better player in the market than the Shuffle
Poor, beleaguered Microsoft. How is Bill going to continue his PaysForSure plan now?
I'm holding out for the iPod RAID Array.
The "69 Shuffle" sounds like a fun little dance tune.
Are they following a logarithmic scale? 1 G = $150, 2G = $200, 4G = $250
Why not announce it on their homepage -instead of .mac- ?
As I wrote on my blog today, at the $149 price point, Apple may have just released the iPod killer killer. If the knockoff MP3 player companies thought things were bad before..oh man!

Hot damn. 1 of each please. Kaching. There goes Apple stock.
